、教材分析

本课时的教学内容是与食物有关,因为食物这一题材和学生的实际生活有着密切的联系而且在三、四年级已经学习过一些相关内容,并有一定的知识基础,所以学生对这一课时的内容会很感兴趣,学起来也会相对的容易些。在教学过程中,教师要注意结合学生已学习过的食物名称和句型,帮助学生掌握新知并拓展一定的相关内容。

、学习者分析

五年级的学生在经过两年的英语学习中,有了一定的语言基础知识。大部分学生对学习英语充满了热情和兴趣,上课发言积极,善于表现自己。也有个别学生因为性格或者学习能力的原因不善于表达,也不愿参与课堂中。对此,教师要特别关注他们的学习感受并积极调整教学设计和教学方法。多给予学生鼓励和肯定。帮助他们建立英语学习的自信。

、教学目标

1. 知识与技能:

(1)能够听、说、读、写单词:ice cream, salad, hamburger , sandwich ,tea

(2)能够灵活运用句型:What would you like to eat/drink?  I’d like a/some...

并进行交流;

(3)运用目标语言进行适当的拓展阅读,提高阅读能力。

2. 过程与方法:

(1)通过创设较为真实的语言情境,积极引导学生体验并用目标语言进行交际;

(2)通过对文本的适当拓展,拓宽思维路径和文化意识。

3.情感态度与价值观:

(1)通过学习,培养学生的合作学习意识;

(2)培养学生动手能力,引导学生享受美食,热爱生活。

、教学重难点

教学重点: 

(1)能够听、说、读、写本课时的五个单词。知道单词hamburger, sandwich的复数形式;

(2)能够灵活运用句型:“What would you like to eat/drink?  I’d like a/some...”可以在餐厅进行简单的点餐。

教学难点:

(1)能够灵活运用本课的词汇和句型,在真实语境中进行交流;

(2)绘制相关概念图并进行语言表达。

PPT、单词卡片、奖励积分卡、食物材料

六、教学过程

Step one: Warm-up

1. Greetings

2. Enjoy a song: Today is Monday

3. Free talk

What would Monkey like to eat?

Teach the new word, “ice cream”.

Step two: Presentation & Practice

1. Show the pictures about the food and drinks that they have learned.

T: I like cooking best, so I often go to the supermarket. What can you see in the supermarket? What would you like to eat?

Ask students to choose their favorite food .Put them in the shopping cart.

2.Learn new words.

T makes a hamburger and teaches the word, “hamburger ”

Make students to find out the materials for marking hamburger. ( tomato, onion, lettuce, sauce, chicken.)  

T shows a fruit salad and make students to taste it. And teaches the word ,“salad”   (让生品尝水果沙拉后在白板上找到水果拖放进碗里并说出水果名称。)

Show a picture of vegetable salad.

(请生说说它包含的食材有lettuce, tomato, purple cabbage, carrot.)

Enjoy a video and learn to make a sandwich. T teaches the word, “sandwich ”

3.Students make four hamburgers, four sandwiches, some salad by themselves. T makes some tea and teaches the word, “tea ”. Help students to know British tea and Chinese tea.

Step three: Pair work

把学生做的食物放在桌子上,营造餐厅的环境。让学生扮演侍者和顾客进行交际。

W-waiter/waitress      C-customer

W: Good afternoon, can I help you?

C: Yes.

W: What would you like to eat?

C: I’d like a...

W: What would you like to drink?

C: I’d like some... That’s all.

W: Wait a minute.

 (W prepares the food and drink for C )

C: Thank you. Well, how much?

W: It’s... yuan.

 (C passes a credit card to W)

W: Thank you for coming.

Step four: Extension reading

1. T: I received an email from my friend Christina. She lives in London. She told me something about the three meals. Let’s listen.

2. Read it and finish the task.

What would Christina like for breakfast?

At school, The canteen provides___________, ____________,pizza, chicken, fish and vegetables.

Which meal is the most important in a day?

breakfast lunch supper

4. Listen and read.

5. Ask students to talk about their three meals in a day. Then design a mind map.

Useful sentences:

In the morning, I’d like...for breakfast. In the afternoon, I’d like...for lunch. I like... best. It’s yummy. I’d like...for dinner. I can make a... I’m helpful.

 

 

Step five: Homework

1. Listen and read the new words after the tape.

2. Make a video about the process of making a salad /hamburger/sandwich.

3. Design a mind map about...???
