Intrinsic Motivations For Learning- Games
MAKING LEARNING FUN has been researched by Mark R. Lepper and Thomas W. Malone who have identified seven theories for game design. The first four kinds of intrinsic motivations can be presented in any learning situation, even those involving one person. (Malone and Lepper). These four are: 1)Challenge, 2) Curiosity 3)Control 4)Fantasy, are based on previous theories conducted. The next elements of intrinsic motivation are categorized as Interpersonal Motivation. These last three are: 5) Competition 6) Cooperation 7) Recognition, since they rely on other players intervening.
