    Unit 7 Let’s count

    Teaching aims:

    1. Master the new words: one, two, three, four, five, and six

    2. Try to use numbers to count. E.g.: Two books, Three pencils

    3. Asking wh-questions to find out quantity. E.g. How many…?

    Teaching importance:

    1. Words: one, two, three, four, five, and six

    2. Sentence: How many…? And short response, e.g.: One book

    Teaching difficulties:

    1. The pronunciation of three

    2. Asking the quantities in our daily life

    Teaching materials: Student’s book, word cards

    Teaching aids: A computer, a projector;

    Teaching procedures:

    1. Greetings How are you? Fine. Fine. Thank you.

    2. Act as a crown: Jack.

    T: Hello! I’m Jack. Ss: Hi, Jack.

    Point to your face and say the sentences.

    Ss: This is my face/ mouth/ nose /eye/ ear.

    3. Suddenly, PPT show a picture of Hui Tailang was hit by his wife Hong Tailang.

    T: Why? Look, Hong Tailang says that she is hungry, Give her sheep, please.

    Thus, Hui Tailang goes to the village and wants to catch sheep.

    Hui Tailang: How many sheep are there? Ss: Six sheep

    4. Know the numbers: one, two, three, four, five and six.

    Hui Tailang wants to play a game with sheep. Ask and answer.

    (1) Hui Tailang: How many ruler ?

    Xi Yangyang: one ruler

    (2) Hui Tailang: How many bags?

    Mei Yangyang: two bags

    Let’s chant. To refresh students’ motions.

    (3) Hui Tailang: How many apples ?

    Fei Yangyang: three apples

    (4) Hui Tailang: How many pencils?

    Lan Yangyang: Sorry. He failed to count and was caught by Hui Tailang.

    (5) Hui Tailang: How many bananas ?

    Nuan Yangyang: five bananas

    (6) Hui Tailang: How many books?

    Man Yangyang: six books

    5. Play a game: Say it out

    6. Let's chant: Show me 5 fingers ! (Little teacher )

    7. Let’s sing: one two three four five

    8. Let's play a game again. Super Mary

    9. Let’s count. (Pair-work). Do some mathematic calculation

    10. Practice: Ask and answer

    Homework:

    1. Count things in your house with your parents.

    2. Try to say more things beside you with numbers.
